Stylus

Mary Had a Little Lamb is performed on a Technics 1200 turntable by attaching a marker to the needle. Turntables were originally used for recording as well as playback and Mary Had a Little Lamb was the first thing recorded using a turntable. The term “stylus”refers to the needle on a turntable but it is actually a remnant of a time when the turntable wrote records.
